Saint Motel: Puzzle Pieces

Saint Motel has put out a new song called "Puzzle Pieces". Hopefully this means that the band is working on a follow up to the band's last album For Play. The track starts off with a very Matt and Kim like piano riff but then definitely goes into the very playful nature of Saint Motel that people have come to enjoy. I really like this single that they put out and hopefully there is more like this to come.

New Song From The Killers

The Killers have said that they have about four or five songs written down to follow up their 2008 album Day and Age. The band recently played one of those songs in a live show that they did in London. The song is called "The Rising Tide" and it is pretty freaking awesome. The song starts off with the keyboards but then eases into what most people would expect from The Killers. Hopefully the rest of their album comes out as good as this song check it out here.

Another New Colplay Song

So Coldplay released another new song ahead of the release of their EP Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall coming this Sunday. The song called "Moving To Mars" is very somber with Chris Martin leading on the piano and then slowly picking up a little bit with the inclusion of guitar and drums. It is kind of appropriate that the song has a kind of spacey vibe to it. You really do feel like you could be floating towards outer space near the end of this song.

Nick Cave And Neko Case Cover The Zombies

So True Blood is a huge show that airs on HBO. The premiere of the new season hits the tv screen this Sunday June 26th. For the premiere Nick Cave and Neko Case teamed u to perform a duet cover of The Zombies hit song "Shes Not There". Neko Case does a great job on the bridge and the verses and Nick Cave appropriately adds the creepy factor on the chorus. After all, the show is about vampires, werewolves, and fairies. You can check out the song if you tune into the show this Sunday. However, if vampires aren't really your thing you can check out the song Here

New Song From Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle Club has released their new song "Shuffle" from their upcoming album A Different Kind Of Fix which is coming out August 29th. The album comes back to the band's more conventional pop roots but also brings in the interesting piano riff that adds a bit of a house/ragtime feel to the song. The uplifting chorus only adds to the pleasure you feel after hearing the track.  The name of their album says it all and judging by the first track it truly will be.

The Black Keys Take On Buddy Holly

The Black Keys have decided to cover the Buddy Holly song "Dearest". The band puts a very laid back vibe to the song which was a ballad and I think does a very good interpretation of the song. The Black Keys open up the album Rave On Buddy Holly which is a tribute album to the late singer. The album is out June 28th and other artists who contribute are Modes Mouse, My Morning Jacket, Florence and the Machines,  Fiona Apple, Ce-Lo, She and Him, and Julian Casablanca from The Strokes. It seems like they got a lot of great artists to contribute to this album and I'm sure it will be great when it comes out.

Two New Coldplay Songs

Coldplay has put out two new songs coming from their upcoming album. The first is "Major/Minus" which is less like the first single the released "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" but still has an interesting feel to it especially with the focus on the acoustic guitar. The next song the released is "Hurts Like Heaven". This song is more like what people are used to hearing from Coldplay in the past and is sure to win over current fans of the band. Check out the two songs here and see what you think.

The Rapture: How Deep Is Your Love

So when most people hear the words "how deep is your love" they immediately think of the Bee Gees hit song. Now dance/punk band The Rapture want people to start thinking of them when you hear the song. The band returns with their new album entitled In The Grace Of Your Love out September 6 and the first single from that album "How Deep Is Your Love" has been released. The song definitely does have a disco vibe to it and while you may not want to show your attraction to this song, when you find yourself dancing to the beat you'll realize that it is a pretty great song. Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks

In a time where there seems to be a never ending amount of political sex scandals, a more perfect song could not have been released. Stephen Malkmus and the Jucks have released the song "Senator" from their upcoming album Mirror Traffic and if you don't believe me when I say the song is perfect, well how about when I say that the chorus is "what the Senator wants is a blow job". It doesn't get much better than that ladies and gentlemen and the song is even pretty catchy too. You'll probably be singing along to it yourself, just so long as no one else is around to hear you. Another good sign that this band has promise is that the album was produced by Beck. So let me know what you think and Check out the song here!

Gold Leaves

Gold Leaves which features Seattle based singer/songwriter Grant Olsen released the tittle track from their upcoming album called "The Ornament". The album is going to be released August 16th and the song has a real spacious almost 60's beach vibe to it that is really catchy. it seems like the perfect song for a long trip down the highway. Let me know what you think of the song after you Check it out here!

Another Exclusive From Beirut

Beirut has released another exclusive song from their upcoming album called The Rip Tide which will be out August 30th. The song is entitled "Goshen" and unlike the song "East Harlem" this song starts off exclusively with Zach Condon singing along with the piano. It kind of gives the song a serene and mellow vibe and then the crescendo comes with the addition of the horns and the drums which adds more color to the song. From What I've heard so far I can't wait to hear what the rest of the album has to bring. Let me know what you think and check out the song "Goshen" Here enjoy.

New Song From Beach House

So the dream pop duo Beach House have released a new song that is not on their latest album Teen Dream. The song is called "I Do Not Care For The Winter Song". The song which is sung by Victoria Legrand has an almost haunting feeling to it that just sucks you in and has you entranced. Guitarist and keyboardist Alex Scally complements the vocals perfectly on this track as well. Hopefully after hearing the song you go out and buy their latest album Teen Dream let me know what you think. Check out the song Here

New Single From Beirut: Exclusive

Beirut has released their new single called "East Harlem". I love this song another gem from the band. The single isn't officially released until Monday but you can check it out here. This A-side has a really lovely ornate feel with the strumming of the guitar adding to the upbeat vibe of the song. Let me know what you think of this song. I hope you like it as much as I do check it out Here!

Kaiser Chiefs New Single

The Kaiser Chiefs have just released their new single from their upcoming fourth album. The single is called "Little Shocks" and it sounds a lot less festival friendly than their previous work. It has a kind of creepier feel to it which while it might turn some of the band's original fans off, I think makes them sound much cooler and grown up. I hope that this style makes its way onto the whole album and not just for this single. Check the link Here to listen to the new song.

Coldplay has just released a new single from their upcoming fifth album. The song is called "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall". The song kind of has a dance hall feel to it which is different from the band's previous work. No telling if the rest of the album will sound like this but can't wait to see. Check it out here and let me know what you think.

Meet Mister Heavenly!

Ever wonder what would happen if members of Man Man, Islands, and Modest Mouse got together and formed a band? Well no need to wonder anymore as members from all those bands, and even touring member Michael Cera from Scott Pilgrim and Superbad fame, have come together and formed Mister Heavenly. The band performed at this year's SXSW and have released their debut single "Pineapple Girl". The song kind of has a beachy vibe to it but it actually sounds pretty good. With other track names such as "Bronx Sniper" and "Diddy Eyes" how can this album not miss? Check out pineapple girl Here  and see what you think. You can also listen to the new song entitled ironically enough "Mister Heavenly" and get a free download of the song along with "Pineapple Girl" Here

Two New Songs From Arcade Fire

Fresh off their Album of the year victory this year at the Grammy's, Arcade Fire has released two new songs, "Speaking in Tongues" and "Culture War". This is all in preparation for the release of a deluxe version of their award winning album The Suburbs. "Speaking in Tongues" actually features David Byrne from the Talking Heads on it.  Arcade Fire deserved all the awards they won this past year for their album and if you haven't checked out The Suburbs simply for the fact that you had no idea who they were at the Grammy's, then I highly suggest that you check them out now. In the mean time here is the link to listen to radio rips from the two previously unreleased tracks. Two Arcade Fire Tracks

David Bazan Strange Negotiations

David Bazan recently released his new album Strange Negotiations. While it is not as autobiographical as his previous album Curse Your Branches which many would describe as a breakup letter to God. This album is much more broad based but never the less still has volumes of lyrical intensity scattered all through it. Standouts on the album are "Wolves at the Door", the title track "Strange Negotiations", and "Level with Yourself". This album might leave you dazed at times but in the end you will feel quite content. I highly recommend that you get this album but if you don't want to take my word for it check out the album in its entirety at the following link.  Strange Negotiations full album

My Morning Jacket, Circuital

My Morning Jacket released their new album Circuital yesterday and it is yet another good showing from the band. This album is very subdued but you really do get the sense of how many different genres My Morning Jacket gets their inspiration from. It's nice to see a band not afraid of showing that they have influence from stuff that happened between 30-40 years ago. This album is good from start to finish but major standouts are the title track "Circuital", "Victory Dance", and "You Wanna Freak Out".  While it may be different from their previous albums, MMJ has always been constantly experimenting. I think that if you give this album a chance you really will be pleasantly surprised.  On NPR's first Listen you can hear the album in its entirety Here! enjoy.
